The Land That Time Forgot emerged as the ultimate victor in our highly anticipated 2024 ERB March "Title" Madness tournament, and the atmosphere throughout the competition was electric with excitement and anticipation. This extraordinary title truly deserved the win. It's a title that has stood the test of time, and been adapted by many others throughout the years.

Let's take a moment to reflect on some of the standout moments from our Bracket Tournament. The Carolina Calots carefully selected 16 titles to participate in this thrilling event. The first round saw some surprising twists and turns, with fan votes determining the fate of each title. The battle between Pirates of Venus and The People That Time Forgot was particularly intense, with fans passionately divided. Ultimately, The People That Time Forgot emerged victorious, leaving fans in awe.

In Round 2 The Chessmen of Mars dominated the competition, leaving Tarzan at the Earth's Core desperately hoping for the clock to run out. However, the battle that truly captivated fans in this round was between the author's two timeless classics: "Tarzan of the Apes" and "A Princess of Mars." It was a nail-biting competition, and in the final hours of voting, Tarzan of the Apes secured its place among the final four titles. Fans eagerly awaited the next round, as the competition grew fiercer.

The Semi-final round presented fans with some intriguing options. All the titles were strong contenders, but some had a more powerful impact on their target audience. This was evident in the bracket featuring Tarzan of the Apes and The Land That Time Forgot. While The Land That Time Forgot instantly set the tone and genre of the book, promising readers unexpected adventures, Tarzan of the Apes failed to convey a clear and informative attribute. As a result, it fell short in the semi-finals.

In the other bracket, The Chessmen of Mars and A Fighting Man of Mars, both had their strengths. Although A Fighting Man of Mars had a more straightforward title, the mysterious allure of The Chessmen of Mars gave it an edge. This advantage played a significant role in the semi-finals, allowing The Chessmen of Mars to easily emerge victorious.

In the highly anticipated finals, the voting turnout was surprisingly low compared to previous rounds. However, The Land That Time Forgot, which had easily defeated other titles in the earlier rounds, did not disappoint. It outshone The Chessmen of Mars and claimed the ultimate victory.

We sincerely hope that all the participants had a blast during the event. Our primary objective was to ensure everyone had a great time. We also aimed to ignite some intriguing debates and conversations surrounding the different titles and the underlying thoughts of Burroughs behind them. Interestingly, the tournament winner was not the author's original idea; it was actually conceived by either the publishing house or an editor working for the publisher. Burroughs initially titled the story "The Lost U-Boat," but it's uncertain whether that title would have emerged victorious in the ERB March "Title" Madness competition.
